LOL, nice find SB.
That is indeed the British army, training for amphibious assaults with the SBS & Royal Marines based in Poole, UK.
This little 'ritual' is played on every new trainee squad when they arrive for the first assault landing. Just 5 yards up the landing area and it's solid/firm ground.

*COUGH*
...er... beg your pardon? ... Still looking for unknown subsurface contacts at the swedish coast? :lurk: :rotfl:
Ok, ok, they were not really in the blood-business that day's.
Just a little bit a "navigational" error and hoping someone will find them and help them home... ;)

Any body knows if these guys where "ordinary" landlubbers who were just tasked to get back to land, where they belong?
Or were they professional marines? They should know a little bit about "beach".
Imagine what to do with the officer who picked that landing spot? :rotfl: Must have had a bad day or two ;)

I suggest to read the comments on that video, some of them may shed some light on the why and how - at least in speculation.

Aaaaa! That explains it :D (You must have been a tick faster in writing then me :) )
Good to know that in every profession there is a lesson-of-the-obvious that will never be forgotten by the trainee :rotfl:
