How 'bout dis one? It killed me when this game wouldn't run on my new computer. This game was great because it NEVER played the same way twice. It is truely a classic. I don't think it had any real bugs either.

Yes it was a great game, i had the same problem i think at the time i had a 233mhz, 64mb ram with 8 mb onboard video titan graphics!!!! :) And i would get slowdowns whenever the fighting got to big. Great game.

Wonder why sid never brought our a Gettysburg 2

Not quite the same, but there was a Sid Meyer's Antietam!

I have SMG and SMA (but there is much more third party content for SMG) running on the latest hardware: OC'ed 3.2GHz Intel QX6700, NVidia 8800 GTX, 4Gb RAM, and Win XP Pro SP2. However, I had to load it with a CPU slow down utility to keep the map scroll rate from being too high.

At one time I also had WNLB and ANGV with lots of total battle mods installed too, but these games despite evolving from the same engine didn't have the excellent game play of SMG.

Doesn't run on Vista? I recall an XP fix being out for it years ago.
