Just wanted to step in and say whats up to all my fellow Submariners. I just got SH4 up and running, actually have owned it for 2 months but couldn't get it up and running (the dreaded "Can not initialize 3D engine" - if anyone is still having troubles with this, please let me know - I know what to do).
Now for my question - Does anyone know of an actual Help guide that I can buy that goes into every detail. The user manual that came with it is very non-descriptive. I know I could do a Forum search evertime I needed to know something, but what I am looking for are those things that I don't know I need to know...
Thanks and good hunting...

Welcome to SubSim :D

The manuel leaves alot to be desired. Theres alot of info out here but I'm afraid you'll have to kinda search for it or ask alot of questions.

I don't recall a thread about the manuel.

There was alot of posting on it when the game was fairly new.

Sorry I wasn't much help.

Just stay online and I'm sure you'll get alot of answers from the more knowledgable members. Good Luck

I agree with you that the manual leaves a lot to be desired, however, the tutorial missions aren't too bad with introducing one to submarine warfare. If all else fails, try the search feature.

That's what happened when the game (v1.0) was worked on. People were busy with their tasks and the game was always evolving and getting so complex and since "helping others" was not an "official" task, the manual ended up as it is.

The idea of pointing the one looking for help to search in a 6000 threads forum (not as organized as you might want) is what caused the current state of the manual.

Nothing will change until "you" make it your own task to change things.

just my two cents

Any chance of those 'missing pages' turning up ?
