Well after totally reinstalling and patching and reinstalling GWX, and the downloading the new Sub Commander and JSGME mod enabler....I cannot seem to enable any mods without the game crashing on boot up. If I do not enable any mods the game will run...but once I enable any mod.....it crashes on startup....I also noticed that when I enable a mod it makes a sound like windows does not like this.....is this normal...the old JSGME enabler did not make any sounds when enabling a mod...it simply moved it over to the other column......any ideas???

I didnt even know you could run the JSGME and SH3 enablers at the same time....

Ping sounds normal, I get it to... allthough I don't get any CTD's it works fine.

perhaps you got JSGME installed wrong or the folders in the mods are wrong?

What mods are you trying to add in

Now was this a completely new install ?
Patched to 1.4
Then GWX added
Then 1.03

Yep....completely patched and updated....as an update...I reloaded for a fourth time and was able to get the mods enabled...and the game runs.....but I recently entered a rain storm on my first patrol and the rain is yellow...please see the attachment....I have reloaded my graphics card driver and no change ..... http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/5602/yellowrainpr0.jpg

Well I think I have found the culprit.....I had the New GWX Sea v 1.2 enabled along with Improved wave textures as soon as I disabled the New GWX Sea mod....the rain went back to normal.......was wondering if anyone else had this happen....Rick

Maybe one conflicting with the other
At least you have found it

Tis a nightmare trying to sort out these sort of problems
So many mods seem seperate but conflict in ways you dont think of

Yes....I think I was rather lucky finally being able to pin point it....the yellow rain being caused by one mod...and the crash upon saving a game and then trying to go back out being caused by a sound mod....funny though...when I enabled them I did not get any warning concerning overlapping files....which I thought I would have....I seem to remember getting a msg once concernig a dat file that had been changed by one mod and that if I enabled the one I was about to that the game could be unstable....so I chose not to continue....but in this case ....I never got any msg.....I guess the real lesson is probably to stick with GWX mods only.....or risk the chance of having issues.....thanx for the input.....Rick

JSGME will only give you a warning when its changing a file thats already been altered by another mod

If you add say a sound mod and its the only sound mod you have added then JSGME will say nothing
Add a second sound mod that overwrites some of the first mod THEN you will get a warning message

Doesnt mean it will be a problem just letting you know so you can check

JSGME v2 may have cured that - not had time to look into it yet

Ok.....I see......I do remember once I got the msg. that a read me file had been previously changed....but I went ahead and enabled the mod anyway as I thought that was not a problem.....it doesnt seem particularly important that a read me file gets changed....but a dat file.....I was kind of unsure......

had a similar crashing prob with SH3cmdr and the new jsgme. turned out i was due to some minor overclocking my cpu. didn't figure it out till after i had un/reinstalled SH3 jsgme old and SH3cmdr what was causing the prob:damn:
