Neal will love this.
Now some people saying openly they are something that can't be labelled as Racist, but is really going too far. White supremists, white nationalists, black nationalists, Eskimo nationalists: not here. We're seeing a growing trend of long cut-n-paste topics on this subject by a few, let's give it a rest. If the GT forum continues at this pace, we will soon see someone saying that Hitler and the Nazis were like the Boy Scouts, only their ideals got misunderstood.
Now, please follow Skybird's example and stick to the topic.
Neal
Don' know what you were after, TteFAboA, but if I were you, I would go into reverse mode.

Wasnt that an Al Murray skit?

I believe that title was a sentence in part of a thread in recent days with a supremacist bent to it. I'm too lazy to find it but I'm pretty sure that exact sentence was used as in people will make excuses for the nazis like Hitler and the Nazis were like the Boy Scouts, only their ideals go misunderstood.
Not a wise choice at humor but there you go.

As long as it isn't memorial day!
No, really, I just copied and pasted what Skybird highlighted to make Neal jump out of his chair.

...and wearily, his finger trembled over the bright red Full Forum Ban button...;)
I know it's a joke. Not really a very good one, though. I need to recruit some new forum members with more imagination and wit.

Can he resist the temptation to push the button that, even now, beckons him ever closer? Will he succumb to the maddening urge to eradicate history? At the MERE... PUSH... of a SINGLE... BUTTON! The beeyootiful SHINY button! The jolly CANDY-LIKE button! Will he hold out, folks? CAN he hold out?

Ahhh. You are wise indeed in the pop culture classics Neal. Either that or your kids loved Nickelodeon.

Still fail to see the joke there. I mean I see it was meant as a joke, but I fail to see the funny side in it. Especially in the context of some recent threads from the past two or three weeks.
Brad, I took the job of quoting for you, if you look closer... ;)
Some people have too much time on their hands :shifty:
Bah, I think its funny just for how everyone gets bent out of shape about the Nazis. We know they were evil, they lost, we won. Why do we give a crap about its casual use so much?! Like it or not WW2 and Hitler and his goonies have influenced our culture so much in the last 60 years we wouldn't recognize ourselves without them, and thats not just serious appreciation for human suffering kind of influence.
We use Hitler too often as an example in our arguments. People worry about Hitler being taken too lightly by those making casual jokes, but those that evoke Hitler in their serious arguments from nowhere I think do far more harm to our memory of those events than any poorly conceived joke.

I like to make fun of them myself. Nothing like a good Mel Brooks comedy to rip the Nazi dummies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yu2NqfISm9k (this music also reminds me of why the 1980s were so awesome)
