Mine would be my most recent just 5 patrols ago. It was Kaleun Navarre's first patrol starting on Sep 1 39 and he got her on Sep 17 based in Scapa Flow. Returned Alive

Awesome kill picture there.
Ships founder easily in rough seas after taking a wound, wouldn't you agree?

ya definently i only put three into her
Hmm,
I had an exciting encounter just last week.
I had detected a convoy and was positioning myself for a good attack. The skies were clear and the wind relatively calm. We were at Peri depth and silent running trying to get to a good range to take out my intended target. A Southampton Light Cruiser running in the middle of the convoy.
http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/7995/p4screen7sr9.th.jpg (http://img180.imageshack.us/my.php?image=p4screen7sr9.jpg)
We were making a 90 degree attack from the port side of the convoy. Speed and AOB had been set up from previous plotting. Slowly we creep closer, while keeping a sharp eye on the forward escort. A frigate of some kind, I didn't bother getting an exact identification. I watch him as he passes across our bow. I feel more confident now that we are outside his primary detection zone, and ring up more speed.
A few minutes later i swivel the scope back to the forward escort. He is now heading our way, but i keep my cool. Surely he is just running his normal escort pattern. But no, he's zigzaging on a base course straight towards the boat. Blast we've been detected!
Ahead Flank, new depth 120 meters!
ping....ping....Ping....Ping....PING PING PING PING.....wasser bomben!
Left full Rudder new depth 150 meters!
The DCs explode close but presumably too shallow. I keep the rudder hard over and notice that we have a smaller turning radius than this frigate. We circle each other for awhile then i straighten out back towards the convoy and drop to 2 knots, my leftover speed carrying us a fair way forward. We hear DCs explode behind us as the frigate drops over our last known position. He circles around back from his previous attack run, and we start to hear the dreaded sound again.
ping....ping........ping..............ping, and inexplicabley they fade away. he hasn't found us.
More DCs explode a fair way from the boat, and I realize he has dropped on our old position again. Instantly I realize we are dealing with an inexpierienced crew and a bold plan forms in my head. The pieces for a daring attack fit into place at this exact moment, but they wont last long.
My nemesis has just made an attack run. He will have to circle around to make another, and we are currently in his baffles. None of the other escorts seem to be reacting to our presence. They must be concerned about other Uboats in the area.
Periscope depth, Ahead flank, Blow balast!
The boat starts to ascend rapidly. I know if i don't do this right we will breach the surface and be vulnerable to gunfire. My crew does a good job keeping the boat under control and we stabilize at 13 meters. A quick look with the scope reveals the frigate still has a quite a way to turn before he can head directly at us. Swivel back to my intended target, and there he is 15 degrees to starboard. A quick standimeter reading indicates 600 meters. Perfect firing position!
Flood tubes 1 and 2, 44 knots running speed, 3 meters depth, impact pistol set... LOS!
Crash Dive! Alaaaaaarm! New depth 120 meters, Knuckle Port, Down Scope!
tick...tick...tick...tick...Torpedo Treffer!
We hear only one detonation. I can only assume that the cruiser sped up enough, upon seeing the torpedo wake, to evade one torpedo. Or perhaps it was a dud. Regardless the enemy warship must be damaged.
Wasser Bomben! Knuckle Starboard! New Depth 150 meters!
The depth charges rock the boat violently and we take light damage. Cat and mouse with our friend Mr. Frigate begins again. He circles around from his previous attack as we drop back down to 2 knots. Again we hear the dreaded ping. And again he fails to locate us. I can't believe our luck!
More DCs explode behind us as once again our local Tommie drops on our old location. I decide to really push our luck and go for a large merchant I had seen past the cruiser we had just struck.
Ahead flank, Periscope depth!
I realign the boat to our attack heading. Tubes 3 and 4 are setup for a magnetic detonation, as i realize that the merchant will be some degrees to our left when we arrive at periscope depth. No sense in risking a failed impact detonation. We arrive at periscope depth and my sonar man informs me that the nearest warship is now closing. I realize that we are probably cutting this one even closer than the last. I steele my nerves and refuse to swivel the scope around to the attacking warship. Instead, I concentrate on my target and get a quick range reading.
Flood tubes 3 and 4! Torpedo LOS! Crash dive! Alaaaarm! Down scope!
I order a turn of about 70 degrees to starboard in an attempt to put the now stricken cruiser between us and the attacking escort. It works and Mr. Frigate has to make a turn around his wounded mate, buying us precious seconds.
tick....tick....tick....tick....Torpedo Treffer!....tick....tick....Torpedo Treffer!
Over the next hour we dodge multiple DC attacks but sustain no further damage.
In the end the cruiser sinks from one torpedo. Multiple secondary explosions are heard from the merchant, presumably he was carrying ammunition.

Well, I don't have one I am really proud of yet, but the one I am least proud of was last patrol, just south of ireland, got two contacts, one eastbound, one west. Lousy weather that day, high winds and rain. I headed south and closed on the northern most of the two, the westbound one. Nice large tanker, set two torps up, rechecked all my figures, and let em rip. No idea what I did wrong, but the second torp missed, and just happens to run into the east bound contact. It would be my luck, the tanker was damaged and failed to sink, but my other torp sunk a hospital ship:huh:. BDU was not happy with me:cry:

So far the best I can offer is a night raid on scapa in 41. I sank 2 Fijis.
No screenshots, it was storming something fierce. Not too mention it was pitch black.
Also Bernard said "Vast ist dis F.L.I.R.?" :o

sinking the home fleet in Loch Ewe on 12 oktober 1939 :smug:
(you should try it, there is: rodney, nelson, Hood, Illustrious and about 6 DD's)

Illustrious in Scapa Flow. Prior to the actual attack a DD detected me and (of course) attacked me with 3 of his colleagues. They depthcharged me for several hours in very shallow waters and one DD even rammed me. But during the fight I was able to sink one of them and I managed to stay undetected long enough after that. So after the remaining DDs went home for some ham & eggs I spotted the carrier only about 1 km away...:|\\
In my current campaign (still in feb '40) it is Illustrious class HMS Indomitable :D
Indomitable was marching through AN48 at night in a biiig battlegroup bound for german bight at 20kts, my U-15 was in almost perfect position, at night under water 2000m from the center line of Indomitable's projected course, shot 3 T1 and went deep.
I heard 2 detonations, no idea what happend to the 3rd. The escorts went berserk but could never get a fix on me... :ping:
When I rose to PD after 3 hours I came just in time for the last act of the drama :D
I guess, I ruined their day... and saved the german coast of course!
To be more proud: manual targeting

I dont have something big to be proud about but what happened today was really anoyng but after all has a good end.I play at 100% for the first time and the time is december 1940. I am send off Lorient towards BF17.
Weather was fine and the patrol grid seems to be empty of pray.Just then at around 08:00 i got report of a large convoy in bf15 (i think just right upper corner of bf17) so i order full speed ahead and pray to get to the intercept point in the right moment. It happens but i am around 4 kilometers from the northern escort of the convoy.Ordering 7-8 deep (type VII )and i order course to intecept the convoy whule passing escort from behind.Though i dont know what i was thinking to try to approach the convoy at noon on the surface.Anyhow i am going at flank but few minutes later the worse thing happens (guess it should been expected) SHELLS begin flying. They were totaly inacurate witch probably save my life and i didnt ordered crash dive but instead slowly dived to 25 meters. The attack on the convoy was impossible at the moment but the strugle for survival just began. Three ships began depth charge me though some maneuvers saved me from death.Sure the submarine sustained minor damage to the perisocopes and the flak (the whole conning tower ) but after 3 hours of evading attacks managed to loose the predators.Though it was really horrible experience 15-20 minutes without getting fix on me and when i began thinking "atlast they lost me" the dreadful PING ..... PING..... PING began echoe in the boat's hull.
Anyhow we surfaced at sunset but i was knowing their heading and i was not going to leave them without a revenge. The same night i was little ahead of the convoy the weather was clear and the moon wasnt too bright. This was my chance i thought. But the mother nature had other plans.Several kiolometers from the convoy i gone to periscope depth and began closing to intercept them at 3kn.Minutes later when i was close enough i rise the periscope and HELL there was a storm.Visibility was absolutely zero ,may be 300 meters if you have cats eyes.
It wasnt perfect weather for atacking but atleast that gave me chance to keep periscope on surface.Slowing down to 1kn i knew that i am somewhere between the colums of the convoy though i barely saw the big tanker slip away.Ordering back 1/3 i waited to get enough distance between the ship behind the tanker.I barely saw something big, some kind of merchant but due to rain and poor visibility i decided it wasnt very smart to try getting a solution and the idea was to fire a salvo of 4 (40kn) at the target from this postion.I did it but the range wasnt very well calculated and all four sliped infront of her bow.IT was moment i thought hell i will sink her even if i had to destroy the hull with pickaxe!!
Calming down i began slow decent at 2 kn and ploting course back to assigned grid for the patrol. It seems though my luck wasnt left my after all.A tropedo hit was detected by the sonar man.Out of the four eels one hit something and by hydrophone it was confirmed that it sunk. The escorts then began trying to get my but my position in the middle of the convoy didnt let them find me quick enough and i gone deep and silent.Later looking at the captains log i found that i sunk a black swan :)

The Nelson.
Got the sucker while roaming off the portuguese coast. He was travelling in a task force, but luckily they were going slow, the weather was crappy (overcast) and I caught them around midnight.
First I fired two eels, both hit. The Nelson stopped and leaned to the starboard side. The escorts didn't really care and disappeared in the night, leaving me all alone with the dying giant. I made another run and hit him twice in the port side.
Having all the time in the world, I surfaced and watched him disappear beneath the waves. :arrgh!:

I took out a fishing boat with my AA gun once. I shot up the cockpit and splattered the brains of the Limeys all over the woodwork. As their boat was going down I kept firing and must have hit the fuel tank because it went up in a bright orange ball that illuminated our bearded faces.
As the wreckage went down I shot up the flotsam and jetsam; I didn't want any trace of my crime to remain. Then I screamed incoherently into the wind for a half hour while the monster in my soul roared in the darkness.
I have issues, I guess.

My best kill was HMS Hood. One of the reasons why it's my fav is because it was my very first capital warship I have every encountered, on top of it I had to do a port raid to get to it. It was on my first patrol. After completing my patrol assignment I visited Plymouth to see what they had and low and behold there she was in all her glory. Pumped 4 torpedoes into her before she went down. I escaped without a scratch. The DDs never picked me up.
PS - Stealth Hunter, those torpedo explosion holes in the side of Anson look massive. Is it some a mod?

No, I fired them towards the same general area. Luckily, they all hit. They simply smashed together in the same area and caused massive damage. Plus, I hit something explosive inside of her.
My most satisfying was picking up a convoy not far from Freetown and messing with it for two weeks. Sank most ships, including escorts. Only 4 small freighters survived after I ran out of deckgun ammuntion.:D

Stealth Hunter, I fully expect you to recount you killing your own crew with a homing torpedo as your finest kill.
And Sailor Steve, didn't you once sink your own sub by ramming into the dock while getting a cup of coffee? (I think it was you, sorry if not.) That sounds like a career high to me.

That was a single mission, but it still was funny as Hell.:rotfl:
It was Bernard's fault, anyway.:x
I sank my sub when my fat cat stepped on the keyboard and hit the "Surface" key. Shot to Hell by 4 destroyers. Oh yeah, the cat was happy, but I was pissed (old career under vanilla SH3).
