This is obscene in so far as still so many people die by starvation.

I think it is not so much a problem caused by eating too much, but by eating too damaging kinds of nutrition, and industrially ruined ("refined")food. having become a bordelrine case of index 25 myself over the last couple of years, I found a diet focussing on avoiding hyper-glycaemic carbonhydrates and trying to focus on hypoglycaemic carbonhydrates instead to be - by far - the most effectice and least fun-killing way to eat.

Which does not mean that I do not accept to occasionally "sin". :lol:

The follow-up costs of this epidemic for the health care system will reach stellar dimensions, and will make it bending.

The Nanny State here wants to send letters out to the parents of fat children. Funny thing is they now regard this more of a threat and more important than global warning, so being fat knocks 18 years off your life so what. As for the burden on the NHS they the government will get there money back when they snuff it and save them on a state pension which we all know is a joke.

What this comes down to here in the UK why the hell should I care as the government is taxing me in to the ground and walks over me so I will eat, drink and smoke as much as I like. Not forgetting drugs as well.

this is what happens when you farm out the school meal service to MacDonalds..

now then...as we are expected to consider our government to be intelligent..(all those "think tanks") bare with me..

they must have realised that allowing school meals to be replaced by "junk food"
was going to have exactly this end result for generations of people..

they could have regulated school meals made sure they were healthy..very easy to do and dang sensible whilst your at it..all very normal..

but they didn't..

so now the government is complaining that because kids have grown up "addicted" and in way even "force fed" (in a manner of speaking) to junk food ..a large proportion have become "obese" with negative eating habits..moving on ...the government now restricts health care for "obese" people...in a form of "punitive" measure/response to this situation..(note that this situation is one almost certainly deliberately created..either by negligence or design...ask MacDonalds what their profit margins are for a clue)

so the Gov gets it both ways...it sells out generations of kids to Macdonalds for no doubt some lucrative trans-atlantic investments....
then it gets to critisize those same people for actualy doing precisely what they wanted them to do..ie eat lots of junk food... fizzy drinks...big buisness..lots of money involved

and it also gets a scape goat for society to slander..(takes peoples minds off the important issues)
and reinforces the "feel good at some one else's expense" factor so neccessary for the advertising gurus to exploit

all this points and prods society towards the un-acceptable truth ...(is un-acceptable a brand?) that anything is acceptable and even neccessary to the good of "society" (george orwell's "boot in the face for eternity")

nanny state? yes indeed...it's been a brave new world for a very long time now but no-one noticed...lol

where will it all end....? compulsory genetic/designer babies...VERY VERY BIG BUISNESS...solves the obesity crime healthcare and just about every other issue all in one gloop....soylent green IS people!!
