Silly Little Question On The Hi-Res Fix

Hi all -

Been a while since I dunked my donut in the briny, but I'm back.

Anyway, I'm using the hi-res fix, seems to work fine. As stated, the F10 key doesn't work with the fix (I'm using XP SP2).

So, ummmm, how do I get to the deck gun? I can use "T" to get to the flak gun, but I'll be darned if "F", "G", or F10 work, even with the crew assigned to the gun.

I know there's a way, there must be or no one would use the high-res fix given the need to man it yourself for good results.

Well, that is fairly embarassing.

Believe it or not, I've never used the pull out station menu on the left side of the screen - I always either run through the boat or use the short cut keys.

*sigh* You could start a calcium mine on my forehead, such is the bone density of my noggin.

There is a free utility called "Auto Hotkey", just google the name.

In your SilentHunterIII/Data/cfg folder, is a Commands_en,cfg file. Just open it with notepad, and scroll down 19 lines to this...

Ctxt=1

Key0=0x79,,"F10"

GoBack=Conning_deck_camera


Change the bolded line to this...

Key0=0x47,,"G"

Save and exit notepad. Pressing G will now take you to the deck gun.

You can easily custom set your keyboard for any game screen/control this way. Use this keychart below to match the correct number for the key you want. Just follow the format already in the commands.cfg.
