Hey! This is what they needed in the age of fighting sail. Disabling a ship by knocking down rigging and masts was relatively easy back then even with primitive deck cannons. Hitting those long lanyards wouldn't have been as easy. Plus, it frees up deck space so you can get yer tan. :cool:
