I see the Nanny State is banging on we are to fat and by 2050 we will be a porky country and get this, this problem is greater than global warming. I say up yours and get out of my life, get on sorting problems out like getting are Hospitals cleaned up from all these filthy killer bugs that rome freely in our Hospitals.

I am sick to the back teeth of the Nanny State dictating at me what I can and can not do, I believe we live in a democracy the last time I checked. But don't forget it's like a tread mill we're had Alcohol yesterday now this today and sooner or latter back to drugs and smoking, all this Nanny State wants to do is run your life as they got no answers to the problems this country is facing.

The smokers and drinkers are at least funding the health care they will later require, by paying exorbitant taxes on their smokes and beer.

But what about our gravitationally challenged brethren?

I say tax their lardy snacks to the hilt.

I got no problem if they slam on TAX on fast food as long as they lower the cost on veg and fruit. Interesting thing here, some time ago on the radio (this year) a group of high ranking Doctors made a study of the death rate in the UK and they found being fat was not the number one killer at all and they dismissed the Governments claims.

Yep, smokers are heavily taxed and there is nothing else the UK Government can impose on them other than an outright ban. However, now that they have finished with the smoker expect more health stories around alcohol as this will be the next target for higher taxation because it's bad for your health etc etc. In Norway for example, I believe they pay around £7-8 per pint of beer because it is heavily taxed to stop over indulgence and protect peoples health. Happy to be corrected on that by someone who lives in Norway if I'm wrong.
