Let's go the whole hog and rap us all up in cotton wool, if that's alright by them. :stare:

What next, do I need insurance to butter my toast?

British high streets facing 'Christmas blackout' because of health and safety laws

Health and safety killjoys are threatening Britain with a Christmas blackout, council bosses warned yesterday.

Crippling insurance costs and absurd safety requirements mean many local authorities have abandoned their traditional lighting displays.

The nanny state is the road to total control. 'I' can take care of you better than you can take care of yourself.

I highly doubt both of these statements. 1. You probably never obey completely. 2. You are a number in your particular country and nothing more from what I can tell.

Just my two cents.

Holy moley. I agree with wastegate!

Back to the topic. Yes Steed, this is getting more and more ridiculous. First we cant have Christmas cause it'll offend the Muslims. Next we cant be saved from drowning because Community Support Officers consider it unsafe to dive in. Now I cant even enjoy LEDs without some punkass minister saying "Only in regulated areas".

Screw you. I'll enjoy my Christmas Lights where I danged well please.

The insurance costs ar the fault of those *****s who sue at every opportunity, some going out of their way to get into situations where they can litigate. This country's rapidly going down the tubes wrt that area.

Go to any RTA and at most 1 in 10 don't claim to be suffering from whiplash....all they are after is a Police Accident Reference Number for insurance purposes :yep:
