Commander question

I have finished my 12th patrol in the North Sea area basically around the East side of Great Britain. I have 3300 renown , which should buy the VIIC boat which came available in early 1940 to the 1st flotilla. (according to GWX manual)
it's now December of 1940 & on my 13th patrol it wants to send me way beyond my type IID capabilities (Depart Kiel/Return Kiel) and will not give me the option to get the VIIC boat.
What do I need to do to get this option? When I did this same career prior to GWX I was given the option to buy the VII B or C boats around the 10th patrol.

Did I possibly screw something up so that it doesn't give me an option any more?

If I just left base & went 100km & then right back to base would that possibly reset things back to where they should be?

Do you have the correct U-Boat Availability Dates turned on in SH3Cmdr?

The Cmdr Readme file contains all the dates of the U-Boats and when they become available.

You maybe able to workaround it by going 500km from port & then returning, provided you still have the 30 days in ports set at default. Also, you could change your day's in base to 1, do the same thing and get another patrol grid or (even easier) change your patrol grid yourself from within Cmdr.;)

Hey Papa, you will have to endure three more months in your type II. The type VII boats will be available in Mar -41 in the 1´st Flotilla, in GWX.

Same goes for the SH3Cmdr with Correct availability option checked.

Dangme..outtatakearopeandhangme...I read the "Y" in the #7 table just below & didn't look any further.
It seems obvious that March 1941 is the correct date. If I live that long I'll find out for sure...lol

These last three patrols have been very touch and go. I have no idea how I made it through them. I screw up by the numbers, and still live to tell the story... I really believe my days are numbered here in this shallow little pond.

It's little things, like the torpedo that hit the DD straight on..bounced straight back & went forward and hit him again. That time it bounced back and dropped to the mud & then the damn thing blew up.
Of course my turn came next..His DC's did blow up...
