I know we have some Oblivion players here. It looks like this is the final DLC for the game. It is the long rumored fighter's stronghold. The download begins Monday, Oct. 15 and runs for that week only so be sure to get it while it's hot!

10 megs on dial-up......I'll have to get it and burn that to a CD, since I'm still on Morrowind Part II: Tribunal. Still have to finish Bloodmoon. The narration is dragging the story to a crawl. Lotta work, but it's worth it.

Tribunal has an awesome story line as does Bloodmoon. Did you finish the Morrowind main quest? If not, then I would recommend doing that before Tribunal because it has a lot of spoilers to the main quest if you didn't do it already. I will just say this, though, during the Tribunal main quest you will come across some of the coolest weapons in the entire game, in my opinion. I like Solstheim more, though, than Mournhold. The environment is really cool.

Yup, finally finished the Morrowind main quest, about 2 years after starting it (the narration I'm doing realllllllly drags things out, 143 pages total).

Currently doing Tribunal, then it'll be on to Bloodmoon.

After those two sequels are done, I'm building a new PC so I can play Oblivion, Silent Hunter, and Trainz.

Thansk for the link, I must try it. I love Oblivion. I almost handle it like a Second Life...

As a wee bit of warning, the new DLC seems to have some serious issues. I haven't seen these yet but there are many who have. Namely: Mystic Emporium at Imperial City is suddenly closed. You have to break in to do business in there, which has it's own risks, if you're able to get in at all. Frostcrag Spire is locked and inaccessible. Go figure. The actual fighters stronghold apparently has some problems deciding whether to show up or not. Fast traveling to anywhere and back seems to work on this. Also notice that containers in your new digs are not all safe (ie. the contents reset) so better watch out what you leave where.

For those on PC, the Unofficial Oblivion Patch for the DLCs takes care of the Frostcrag Spire glitch and the Mystic Emporium glitch. They are likely to release an updated UOP for the DLCs with the Stornghold included.

I've never run into the disappearing Stronghold glitch.

I've read reports, too, that not all chests are safe. The ones in the Private Quarters are and I have found that the crates to the room directly to the left of the main entreance are also safe. I don't remember which others are, though.

Yeah, the UOP is absolutely must even if you don't use any other mods. There are about zillion bugs and glitches in Oblivion that Bethesda doesn't feel like fixing, leaving it to the community. Hmm, which other games do I have that are just like this ;) ? Sad but true, the state of the gaming industry.

Unofficial Oblivion patch for the DLC...? Where?

I mean, safe is safe, so why not use it. But I never ran into problems like resetting chests, or other things. I played the main story once until the end, then started a new character which now also is level 18 again, and ignore the main quest completely, and I cannot complain about any serious bugs. Maybe I am just not playing it systematical enough, or am not looking close enough. I read about resetting chests, but it never happend to me - so far!

The castle is nice, btw. i have movd all my stuff there, incluing a horse, second armor and weapon set, etc. I was using two other mods like this before, a hideout in Imperial city, and a a private property on a small island south of Leyawin. All items I stored there - are still there.

Here is the official thread for the UOP Shivering Isles (if you have it):

Each thread shows what bugs are fixed and where you can download it. I HIGHLY recommend it. I never realised there were that many bugs in the game until I read through the glitch list.

I love the castle! It is very cool. I moved all my stuff from my Chorrol house to the castle. The trainer that you can spar with is awesome. It is a good way to hone up on some skills.

The trainer cant Injure you, so you can train your Armor or Block skills on him for an hour, in fact you can just leave yourself their and go get something to eat.

Oh and I know of the secret of the castle,

After you perchase all of the upgrades go to the sparring room then find the archery range, walk down until the end of the range and open the wall useing the little switch behind the target, then go down and you can find a good sword and shield on a skeleton (whos very much alive :yep:) and then you can find a lich thats also hostile and has some good items on him.

You probably should put a spoiler alert on that so someone doesn't inadvertantly read it.

More spoiler alerts (highlight them to make it visible):

In the wine cellar, from the entering door, left of the two huge barrels, there is another door that can be easily overseen. It leads into a tunnel upwards, ending in a chamber apparently without exist, but examine the stone posts carefully...
