Now I hear that they are planning of making a SHV and almost everyone in here are very very glad and so am I.
But will we ever see a DCII??

Where did you hear this? Have they revealed any pointers for the theater of war?? PLEASE BE ATLANTIC!!!!! Hopefully, after the balls up that was SHIV on release they will actually let the devs finish the game before it goes on sale...but knowing what Ubi are like I would have thought they would rush it through development :damn::damn::damn::damn::damn::damn:

It may well be the Atlantic/Pacific combined :hmm:
I know that my english is not that perfect, but it's not the SHV I was talking about, it was, if we ever will see a Destroyer Command II.

I second that. DC was a total disappointment, bad graphs, bad gameplay, buggy as hell, very blah.
A DCII with the quality level of SHIII would be something I'd buy without hesitation.
As for SHV, I think an early Cold War setting would be interesting. Say, the 50s-early 60s, with GUPPY subs, the Skate, the Skipjack...there could be spy missions, like the Ivy Bells program, where'd you sneak in soviet harbors to tap communication cables...I think it has a lot of potential, besides, between SubCommand/DW and the SH series, there's decades of secret sub warfare to cover.
Just my .02$
I doubt very much that there are any submarine games being developed by the majors.

A new destoryer command game would be on my "Must Buy" list. Expessally if they tied it into a new Silent Hunter, or hell, If I can put the new "Grey Tin Cans" (Supplyed by the GWX team of course:up: ) supermod on it that is compatable with "Grey Wolves", I'll buy that puppy in a minute.

If there is a SH5 my money is on WWI as the setting.
The Cold War would be interesting but how many ships do you get to sink?
I doubt we will see another Destroyer Command. I think the game was developed primarily as a counterpart to SH2 so that online games could be played U boats verses DDs. As a stand alone game it didn't really cut it. A shame though. If they were to resurrect a surface naval sim I would pay a lot of good money to see Task Force 1942 come back, I loved that game. Must have played that campaign a dozen times, from each side too and won!

I also would lik to se a surfac naval sim, but more realistic stuff in, the closest naval sim up to date is the arcady Battlestations Midway.

Well if they won't make SH V, I'm sure the GWX boys will :D

Hi!
OK, maybe there's a pattern here:Silent Hunter II featured U-boats, but was not so good.
Silent Hunter III featured U-boats, but was much better than Silent Hunter II
Silent Hunter IV featured the U.S. in the Pacific, but was not so good.
Silent Hunter V will feature...

Talk about a zombie thread! Looking back three years leads to some interesting observations.

Silent Hunter V will feature a u-boat, and be released in much less complete condition than SH3, with much shinier graphics and much less everything else.
Zombie zeez thread
