Today in the Realistic Photo thread there was a post in this thread called SAS captures german U-Boat. Which featured screenshots from Hidden and Dangerous 2. I had asked if anyone knew where I could find a copy of the expansion pack for the game called Hidden and Dangerous 2 Saber Squadron. My asking of this in NO WAY was asking for an illegal copy of this game, but was asking if anyone was selling one or knew anyone who was selling one on E-Bay or Amazon.com. I'm a real sailor for the United States Navy, our motto is Honor, Courage, Commitment. I if I have in any way commited an act to have myself banned from this site would be like getting kicked out of the U.S.Navy. If I had in anyway, shape, or form have commited such an act of the illegal downloading or buying of a game you the moderators have the power to ban me from this site. But I have found on my own on Amazon.com a legal copy of HD2 Saber Squadron and will buy it when I have the money. I'm sorry for any trouble I have caused and I do not support the use of illegally downloaed or bought games. I'm also sad for the stupidity of those who do use illegal games and software. I do hope that I will continue to stay on this site and see the realse of GWX 1.04. To Kaptian Lehmann and the GWX crew keep up the good work.

Thank you TarJak. The reason for this post is to show my point of view on this subject and how wrong it is for someone to steal games.

Rgr that. It is very wrong.

Supply of links leading to piracy sites and then admission of downloading/using of priated software openly flaunted here on Subsim, usually results in an immediate ban.:hmm:

What is Subsim.com's stance in relation to warez and piracy?

SUBSIM Review has a longstanding policy against software piracy. We do NOT allow discussion or even mention of warez, abandonware, peer-to-peer game swapping, illegal download sites, or rip-off websites. Nothing will get you banned faster than pointing people to illegal software distribution sites. Don't ask for serial numbers, manuals, or cracks. Any admission that you have in your possession illegal software can and usually will result in revocation of your Radio Room forum account. Support computer game programmers buy legally purchasing their work. They have to eat too, you know.

At the owners discretion I suppose.

As I told you privately, we are currently investigating what happened, and Neal will determine appropriate punishment for those involved as warrented individualy based on their own actions.

I do not think your actions in this matter will warrant a ban. But in the end that decision is up to Neal and not myself, and I will stand by his future decision on the matter.

You probably will receive a warning though for what you did post further on, though your initial post did not specify that you were looking for pirate sources (or legal sources either).

If you have any further questions or statements on this or any other matter Kptlt. Hellmut Neuerburg please feel free to contact me privately.

You have said what you felt you must say on the issue, and it will be taken into consideration. In the interest of keeping this matter private between yourself and the Subsim staff, and to prevent any further piracy discussion problems this thread is being locked.

BTW for those attempting to judge what happened on their own, be advised that most of the relevant posts have been soft deleted. So you will not have the full picture. I will finish the clean up in the other thread when this matter is finished.
