A fantastic auction of props from the recent Hornblower TV series was held last week in the UK here is the catalogue (http://www.theauctioneer.co.uk/hornblower.htm) the "models " look amazing. Sadly it looks with the sale of the props and withdrawl of A&E funding there will be no more episodes .

If your young and rich you should buy the whole lot for example a chap bought a heck of a lot Space 1999 sets and back in the 1990's it was worth 1/4 of a million pounds. :o So now it must be worth even more, this sort of stuff is a long term investment. :yep:

That was a great series. A&E went to hell, they replaced Hornblower with Dog the Bounty Hunter:down:

I'm not so sure HB will be such a classic in 20 years.

Stuff like that is kind of fun to have; I bought part of the set for the 'Sulaco' spaceship used in the movie 'Aliens' a few years ago, it's always an interesting conversation starter when people see it!

:D Chock

What an attention grabber walking down the local High Street wearing a period waxed canvas heavy duty foul-weather waterproof officers' ankle-length deck coat and underneath it a 'Dad's Army' type battledress and 'Pike's' scarf :hmm:

Ioan Gruffudd is trying to get the rights for the series so he can do a movie. I hope he does succeed. The only problem with the series is that my wife has got a little bit of a crush on Ioan!:88)

Doubt that will happen, it was planed to have some sequal's but Master and Commandered didn't make enough profit to justify the risk.
