using GWX, i anchored at that Axis port west of Tobruk to refill torpedos and fuel.
after resuming the mission, my sub was deployed like 50 meters off the coast - on the wrong side of it, unfortunately!!
so i now have 46 dead sailors and a destroyed sub lying on the beach.. :dead:

sure it's a known issue - what should i do? :p

Because Tobruk is not a proper scripted base you run the problem to have adverse effects when you dock there. Ideally if you want to refuel in a friendly base it will be better to do it somewhere that it's scripted in game (i.e. there is a Flotilla attached to it).

I think mel might have meant use a base where there is ideally a flotilla based or a supply ship scripted.
Some of the neutral/friendly ports that are non regular, are so small that the sub ends up as part of the fixtures (as in your case).
After GWX is released I will post a typical yet humorous screen shot to show precisely what I mean

Thats what happens when you leave Bernard in charge of watching the boat while you drink.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yup. Have the crew get out and push, or wait for high tide.;)

anyway, i couldnt take a screenie of my parked sub in Banghazi as i had already moved on with my mission and docked at another port which, hopefully, wouldn't suffer from sudden desertification.

so i headed up to the Axis base at Crete:

you cannot see the actual sub in the picture - it should be somewhere behind that hill. which leads us directly to my next question: are all new GWX ports bugged and should be avoided in favour of the current homebase?

Damn just reread your post
So twas Bengazi was it
Well there isnt even a port there so that might be a giveaway
lol
Have moved the start point to a location in the water should anyone else see the need to dock there in future

well you might include Crete as well while you're at it.. :P

anyway, i'll just head back to (hopefully) secure Salamis for now..

okay docking back at Salamis inevitably ended my patrol - a bit rash, as i'd say, as all i did was firing spreads at destroyers on two occasions and sinking one C3 cargo.
me and my crew were ready for more! :P
