Im playing GWX and at the end of every patrol if i leave the game and come back later it says 'the war ended' on the load screen and i cant advance. Ive heard abou this before but cant remeber where. Is there any way to stop this?

How much renown do you have? IIRC if you end a patrol under a certain amount BdU says it's time to park the U-boat, hand over the keys and spend the rest of the war on the beach. Did you sink a bunch of neutrals or friendlies or even worse a hospital ship during your last patrol?

I was recently given this advice ( thank you 3Jane) because I had the same problem as you. I did not try it as I needed to re-install anyway, but I am sure it will fix your problem! :)

Go into My Documents/SH3/data/cfg/Careers/*your kaleun's name* and open both the Careers and Career_0 files with notepad, find the line WarOver= and make sure it says false.

Wierd. I sank loads. In fact i returned to port with 5 deck gun shells left and thats all. Might have been a neutral in amongst the sinkings. How much renown do i lose for a single neutral? Definatly didnt sink a hospital ship.

IIRC it depends on what type of ship it is. I think the negative renown hit is equal to the positive renown if it was a valid target.

At what date does the radio communiq go out that says to surrender? It is may 12 1945, Berlin is in allied hands, all ports on the map are green, but I did not get the memo...
