Currently running Trigger Maru...
June 16 1942.
After relieving as CO onboard USS Gafiltafish, a Gato class Boat...I left the island paradise of Oahu and headed towards Midway with an extra passenger that is getting a free ride to the land of the rising sun. Pulled into Midway to top off for fuel as well as load up on some No 10 Cans of "Pillows of Death" and some lifer juice. Dropped off a JO due to a hot running torpedo tube, have to put some policy about meeting strange ladies on the North Shore during R n' R.
Since departing Midway I have been plagued with daily air attacks from Zeke's, Val's and Kates. My gunners have knocked down over 20 planes while the ship has received minor damage to the hull and fwd batteries.
There has got to be a CV out there, I am currently 245 NM dues west of Midway. SUBPAC sent out word of 4 Jap Carriers being sunk during the Battle of Midway.....I wonder if there are any more.
I am currently altering my course to the NW in order to look for any remnants of the invasion fleet that was since towards Midway. Due to the increasing number of air attacks, I feel I must be getting close. I have chosen to remain on the surface in order to maximize speed, but with the damage we received yesterday, caution may be the word of the day. If things get too hairy I will run submerged during Mid Day and run Flank during the rest.
