i got 3 in a type IIA that seem to be stuck waiting to load, after putting 3 into the side of a 11,747 ton freighter, but doing nothing

i've transferred crew in and out then back in to no avail, and no silent running. got my boat on the surface leaving AN56 headed to a small island to the ESE, Hellegaland(?sp), to refuel/rearm
edit: there a chance it's a bug in GWX that would cause this for the type IIA?

Click on your Weapons Officer and go to Weapons Management. Look and see what is going on with your torps. Torps waiting to be loaded will be all grey looking. place your mouse over it and it should show you a load time that is counting down. If it says that it's "waiting in que to load" then there is a problem.
REason torps are not getting loaded:
Not enough people in the torpedo compartment or the ones you have there are either very tired or not qualified. Look at the green bar above the compartment. You want it filled as much as possible.
Your running silent. No torpedos will be loaded when running silent. You may think your not, but click on your Chief Engineer and double check with him to make sure.
Compartment damge. Are you torpedo rooms damaged?
You have external torpedos. if you want them loaded, you'll have to click and drag them to the internal reseves. They will NOT auto load! And they can take quite a while to get loaded (6 to 12 minutes).
Last: you're just out of torps! :rotfl:

Do you have "Automatic load" on the Weapons screen enabled?

Toggle the auto load back and forth, and try dragging and dropping. I have not seen this bug since stock. Of course, check for tube damage, although I think they still will load...

I have a question:
The last three torpedoes are in fore reserves or they are on theirs "slots" (fore tubes) with gray color?
Maybe you disabled automatic torp reaload then eels can't be move from reservs to fore tubes

if you enable "Auto loading" your torps will be automaticly transfer from fore reserves to tubes like here:

or maybe you haven't enough crew to reload like here:

Check if the tubes are open to the outside. Your crew is not stupid...
and to check if the tubes aren't open go to the tower and check there.
Or just cycle through all tubes press Y then W repeat till all are closed.

'k, i'll try to get to everyone:-? . no damage; fully crewed; no silent running, on the surface; torps aren't stowed, but are in the tubes "waiting"; toggled auto load and dragged/dropped. one thing mentioned, tho. Mittelwaechter, unlike SH4 could it be that the outer tube doors don't close automatically? cuz if they don't, then that's just...looney:p ;) :D . i'll have a look later and see if the doors are closed:doh: . as for Bernard, he's down in the bilge seeing if the water there is suitable for making tea:o .

yup, tube doors were closed. started a new career with a VII. gonna see if i get the same thing, but i doubt i'll get anything in AN24

got me a VIIb and it's the same, eels in the queue...waiting. sent 2; one hit a DD:ping:. might remove GWX later just to see what happens:-?

uninstalled GWX/SH3 then reinstalled just SH3. torpedos load as the should, even the external stows. i have no idea as to why the wouldn't in GWX:-?

situation resolved, tho not sure which mod caused the prob:-? . only mods originally enabled were environmental type when GWX was installed. eels loading normally and now i can finally get a real career goin with GWX:ping: . wouldn't mind knowing what mods are compatible with GWX
The only ones you can be sure of are those that only change sounds or graphics, skins emblems etc. Anything else you are wise to use JSGME to load them so you can unload if it fouls things up.

I don't know why but I had to redownload & install sh3 & gwx three times before I got everything to work well. I guess it just gets a little corruption in the download & you have to keep trying till you get a good one...
Say, You mention getting your IIA resupplied in the North Sea. How did you go about this? Will any sinkings that you get after resupply show up in the total tally for the patrol?
I'm also in the North Sea on my 10th patrol & am now in the IID boat... If I live through this patrol I would like to try a resupply type operation.
