See, I was not dreaming when I was testing. I have basically the same system as you. Many worried that the FPS would be killed but it remains the same and in some instances gets a gain or two:up:

Has anyone reported a FPS hit? You guys are saying an increase in FPS, correct? For that simple reason it would be worth loading for me...not that my FPS are that bad (14-16, not great but very livable), but anything that bumps them up is a good thing in my book!

I'd love to know what settings you guys are using. I'm running an Athlon 64 3500+, 2 GB RAM, Nvidia 8800 GTS 512 MB and 4x AA and this thing runs so choppy on my system (nevermind the miscellaneous graphics problems yet to be worked out like shaky water, phantom smoke plumes, etc) that uninstalled the mod. :-?

Mookie....your system should be kicking major butt with this game. My system is AMD 3200+/2gig RAM/X1300 512mb vid card. I get on the bridge an average of 19-25 FPS. I use 2x AA. I have the standard resolution for the game. I find the game playable even at 15 FPS which I get to sometimes while playing. I have checked all boxes except fog/sun glare. These two kill me. All sliders at full with exception of LOD for Terrain. This is at half. What I would do is and I did it, complete reinstall. Get your mods in order you wish to use. Start at base zero for the card tweaking. I gained two more FPS by doing this. I was getting some of that strange color transition in the sky before I reinstalled....this issue went away as a result. I have the full ROW mod in effect!!!
Mods I run:
ROW...in full
Taters new campaign files
Oakgrooves guage and interior texture files
Capt Midnights radio mod
Capt Cox officer hat/insignia mod
Seems like a pain in the arse to reinstall it all but it the end result was worth it for me. The shaky water issue after high TC is corrected by hitting CRTL and N key. I believe it happens as a result of weather change during high TC.
My system:
AMD Athlon64 3500+ skt939
MB: A8N-SLI Deluxe
RAM:Kingston 2 x 1 GB CL3 DDR400
Sweex Power Supply 650W Big Fan 24 pins
HD : Maxtor 120 GB 7200 8M SerATA
GFX: 8800GTS 640MB PCI-E
SB CASE TRANSFORMER BLACK-IC-TR-BA
Mods activated:
Trigger Maru 1.6 +patch 1.6.2
ROW (full)
SI Sonar Metric Scale Kit
settings in game:
All boxes checked (ecxept Window Mode)
All sliders full (ecxept gamma= about half)
Resolution 1024x768 75Hz
settings in nvidea control panel:
AA x4
gamma correction =OFF(for sunglare)
inpressions:
I only have the 8800 sinds a week and i am no pc guru at all....so technical pc terms and manuel settings =:hmm: for me (long live JSGME and the communityaces here who give step by step "to do" explenations )
I am on my first patrol with ROW(i deleted all saved games in my documents and started a new career ...so i hope to see the lightning )
I have a average FPS of 48 on the bridge so far....Only cruised in open calm seas till now and sunk a nagara maru . No idea what the FPS will be with a task force nearby or when entering a harbor (pearl is the challenge i think)
I have no shaky water and all runs smoothly till now....have seen the phantom smoke plumes as well ....a normal smokeplume from the stack + a second plume behind the ship.
sry for my verry basic english writing
(i speak and understand basic german;french ; english and dutch ofcorse..but writing ....pffffff:doh: ...so ..keep it simple :D

Is Reflections on the Water compatable with Trigger Maru v1.62? If it is, should it be installed before TM or after?

Dude, your system should have not trouble running this game at all.
Sounds to me it's either a software problem or a fouled up OS. Have you reinstalled your OS recently?
It might be radical but I'd go for a fresh install of your OS.
My spec's:
Asus P4P 800E -DLuxe
P4 3.2gg
Asus Ati X800-Pro TVD (256MB)
1.5GG DaneElec. CL2 DDR400
500gg S-ATA 8mb cache HD
I run the game at an average of 40FPS (40 outside and 90 in map mode)
Obviously when getting close to a vessel on fire my FPS drops around 10. (So I keep my distance).
Slide bar's: All maxed out
On the left: Only checked the environmental effects
On the right: All checked except V-sinc

it is compatible as far as i know, i think it is mentioned somwhere in the ROW thread how it should be installed.
The readme talks about the order of installing the parts of the mod but doesn't mention other mods. I haven't been able to find anything in the ROW thread about compatability with other mods but I'll look again.

replaces LBO and Seeadler's environment mod and Kriller2's mod and incorporates a ton of smoke work from many differn't mod's and visability mod's and rain mod's and underwater visability mod's and so forth all all in this if this helps to answer some of the questions about compatability.
The only thing I need to do and get out to everyone is a new zone's file from RSM by Wernersab to get all the effect's working we created for the mod. Should be out for download this week to add to the mod.
Great...thanks for the info. The mod looks and sounds very good so when the new zones file is out I'll give it a try.
