Does anyone know if it is possible to determine the maximum distance that can be traveled when on Battery Power at a specific speed? For example, how far can the Gato travel on 100% battery power @ 2kts. Thanks.

A: Not very far :p
Im not sure if anyone has done distance calcs for batteries. As typically with batteries even at reduced speed your not getting very far.
Now diesel, thats been discussed numerous times.

The real USS Gato was good for a maximum of about 90-100km at 2 knots (48hrs battery endurance @2 knots), sea conditions (ie. currents) depending, of course.

Thanks Seafarer. I will see if this endurance is modeled in the game. Great source BTW.

48 hrs at 2 knots is actually 178 km, so there seems to be something wrong with your sources from the start. Perhaps you meant 90-100 nautical miles? 178 km is 96 nautical miles.
My testing suggests in-game endurance is approximately 30 hours, thus 96 nautical miles is not remotely achievable.

There are other variables as well. They certainly did not sit in the dark while submerged. The battery system was used for other things other than propulsion. Seafarer resource is good.
Testing I did with patch 1.2 confirms seafarer. Weather and crew efficiency affects the result.
