Hello, I am normally a console gamer (360) and am new to computer games. After seeing this game and reading posts I decided I must have it, especially because I love subs :) Unfortunatley I know very little about computer gaming, My computer is a Toshiba Satellite M115 laptop. As far as I know my computer meets the minimum standards but I read on a website that laptops are not supported with this game which I'm guessing means that laptops don't work  Although I don't really know and understand everything yet, any help would be very very very much appreciated, thank you all

I dont see any problems running SH3 on that - but you may have to put the graphics down - do you have SH3DVD ?

Welcome to Subsim artcore

I play on a laptop with no problems.
As Shelton said if you keep the game graphic settings down low I think you''ll be OK.

I read several examples of laptops with the Intel on-board graphic accelerator having some problems, e.g. not seeing the binoculars, and other graphical glitches.

Hello all and thank you for the help, Shelton I take it that by SH3DVD you mean the game (Sorry I am still learning). If that is what you mean than no, but I will hopefully buy it soon, and Hakahura, it is comforting to know that this game works on your laptop :) Maraz- yes, I was worried about something like this but I think I will take my chances with game. I guess my only question now is to what SH3DVD is? Thanks again.

artcore01, there is a Ubisoft tool that scans your computer in order to give you a report whether your computer is compatible with the game. This tool is included on the Silent Hunter III cdrom. I might also be downloadable from the internet. Somewhere.
I just don't know if it is possible and allowed to send you this tool.

About the specs you give:
512 mb ram is a little low, but it should work. I also played with 512, and it works fine, except the loading time is very very long.
Your videocard is also more suitable for office apllications, but I think it will work ok with SH3, except for maybe the problem Maraz mentioned, don't know about that.

I really hope you get SH3 running on your laptop, because it is the best game I ever had. It's more like a hobby to me now. Didn't see that coming

I would agree that you should at least double your memory. I would say 2 gigs would be even better but I have no doubt that laptop memory is expensive.
