I've got Kingdoms, and I must say that I'm impressed and a little disappointed in it.
I love the 4 new Campaigns... American, Teutonic, Britannic, and Crusades. The new units look great...
But... I'm getting a lot of model artifacting (like parts of the units are being stretched to an inifinte point) usually that's an indicator of vertices not matching and I'm also seeing a lot of AI issues. Just the other day I during my America's campaign, I had a Stone Walled town with about 600 units (A general's unit, some Arquebusiers, two Sword n Buckler, and three merc infantry units) assaulted by a >2000 unit Aztec stack loaded with Eagle soldiers, archers, Spearthrower units, and two bodyguard units.
Lets just say that I lost about 60 units total. My General's bodyguard unit lost almost 30 guys and then the general, and I lost one 60 man Arquebusier unit due to improper management on my part.
The whole battle, the Aztecs did not come down off those walls... they assaulted my walls with 4 ladder teams, and did not budge. So, I had about 1400 units stuck on the walls, while I took my general and assaulted them from the outside while they were climbing the ladders. Then when over 1/2 of a unit made it to the top of the wall, the general would stop attacking them...?
Once I took that n00b General, sacrificed him attacking several other units (I took him from one bonze chevron to 2 gold) it was a 40 unit unit that's now down to 16...
On top of that... ALL of their units were stuck at Wavering and Shaken once on those walls...
Good for me, cause I hear 1/2 way through the time limit it said:
"Only a GENIUS could pull off a victory"
and then 3/4 of the way through the battle it said something along the lines of:
"You're kickin' their a$$!"
I know I should've lost that battle big time... but due to bad AI, it didn't quite work out that way.
Anywho... overall I guess I'd rate it a 75% decent... I mean it's a 7GB+ add-on... that's phenominal. But, there sure are still some bugs with it... towns switching management on and off. Unit purchases getting queued dispite the fact that I'm supposed to be managing the towns... etc... just some weird stuff.
