The OP was trying to give everyone a heads up about using Keyset 1.1 (a mod for Silent Hunter 3) with Silent Hunter 4. He says that when he tried to do it, he ran into problems such as non-functioning keyboard inputs and non-functioning command bar buttons.

Keyset 1.1 provided a way for SH3 skippers to create multiple keystroke macros (which could be activated with a SINGLE keystroke) as well as allow them to customize the keyboard command assignments for SH3 however they liked (as opposed to the vanilla keyboard command assignments that came with the game).

I believe there is an SH4 mod that reassigns the keyboard command structure of SH4 to match that of the vanilla SH3 keyboard command structure but I'm unaware of an SH4 mod that allows one to create custom macros and a custom keyboard command structure for SH4. If there is such a beast please provide a link to it for me.

So, even though the OP was "unique" in his use of the tilde key (perhaps he was trying to imitate waves?), and even though the OP seems to have an English language / English grammar barrier, what he was trying to say was not nearly as cryptic as those who have already responded in this thread seem to think.

What he was trying to do was give other SH4 users who might decide to give Keyset 1.1 a try, fair warning that he at least, encountered problems doing so. In warning them, he was trying to be helpful.

His attempt at helpfulness was met with sarcasm and somewhat condescending responses. Any wonder at all this prompted a negative response from him?

I don't understand why such mature and intelligent folks feel a need to be this way. NO SARCASM INTENDED.

Of course I don't take him seriously now. In the second post I made I clearly stated that Grim was "being immature now". But that is besides the point.

My point is that it is more constructive to give others the benefit of the doubt as a reflexive action rather than to create a "troll" and then proceed to feed it.

I am not some kind of genius and was easily able to "decipher" what he meant in his OP. This last statement is simply meant to illustrate that with a positive attitude and a little work I was easily able to figure out what he was trying to say.

Get over it? Get over what? I am simply trying to appeal to the common sense and good nature of the membership here, to have a more positive attitude towards others in order to not provoke them into becoming negative. Now, if they should become negative / nonsensical via their own choice to do so, the best course of action is to simply ignore them rather than spur them on, since it's the attention itself that motivates them to continue.

But now it is time for me to stop beating a dead horse because if anyone was going to understand or acknowledge what I was trying to say it would have happened by now. Instead my comments seem to have brought out exactly the opposite effect. I'm the one who needs to get over it? I beg to differ.
