View Full Version : I spot Funkmeßsignale - but the enemy doesn't spot me?

The title explains itself. With the FuMo I can detect the enemy's Funkmeßsignale - but since those are radar rays, detecting them would mean they have reached me and are being reflected to the enemy, right? Instead, I can easily avoid destroyers because they don't detect me at all.

Should it be like that or might there be something wrong with my sensors? I'm running gwx with rubini's stay alert mod.

IIRC the RWR in that mod has a real long detection range
More than the radar on the DDs etc so you will know they are there but they dont see you

Not sure how closely this is modded, but real world radar detection equipment can typically detect transmissions at 1.5 times the range that radar can detect you. Specifically, since the radar signal loses strength as it travels, you can counterdetect it further than that can detect you because once the signal is reflected off your hull it still has to travel back to the originator and be strong enough to be received and processed.

What they said. That's what it was there for. On the other hand, some captains refused to use it because of a rumor going around that it actually gave of emissions that could be detected - not true, of course.

Alright, I'll just make use of it then I guess. ;]
