A Happy Labor Day to all. The American Labor Day is probably the least politicized of all national labor days. Although it began as a day to show the force of trade and labor unions, it has, generally, become an end of summer salute to the real American heroes: The American worker. He is the everyman (or woman); the one who drives the industry, strengthens the dollar, and puts the gun in the soldier's hand. No war is won, no standard of living is increased, no progress of technology is made without him or her.

Here's to us, the average folk. It is our day. Enjoy it.

You guys have a nice one over there. Bitersweet memories for me (we have it in Canada as well) after all it signaled the end of summer and return to school. Also, a last nice long weekend with picnics and outings to the beach or the park (for us it meant Crescent beach or Stanley Park in Vancouver).

Happ Labor Day, guys :)

I'm celebrating this tangentially. I'm in work, chatting over MSN with a friend in New Jersey.
