This guy David Beckham is laughable as an athlete by US standards. He plays a sissy sport and is always injured. Are all Europeans like this guy? I think yes!! Your mommy/mummy/muti is calling.

Please tell me how soccer/football isn't a long boring girly sport played by overpaid, sissy, premadonas, who kick eachother like third grade girls.

I'd love to hear it.

I'd love to hear it.Not everyone who plays soccer is overpaid. In fact, 90% of us aren't paid at all. Of course it's ridiculous at the top levels, so is every sport, eaten up by commercialism.

Long & boring? - I agree, it's not the most exciting sport in the world to watch.

Don't they halt football games for TV adverts in the US?

Yes, but in between the players actually hit someone.

The more I think about it the more I see soccer/football as a metaphor for Europe in general. Third grade girls who would rater kick others in the shins than stand up and play ball.

Yes, but in between the players actually hit someone.

Actually, do you rail on golf or basketball because they don't hit each other? Oh nevermind.

Thats fine with me.

Golf is a Scotish game as I recall, and we all know that basketball is nothing more than ten black people jumping in the air every twenty-four seconds.

So, yes I'll rail on those two.

There's a video of some guy from some South American team falling down on his own pretending to have been injuried by some other player, but I can't find it because I don't know the names of any of these entities.

I think you should attack it from the aspect of the limbs. A sport that rejects opposing thumbs for 20 of the 22 players? That can't be good.

Nope. What was there to smart about? If you want to believe it's propaganda to brainwash little minds to be Democrats go right ahead.

WG should come and watch an 'after-match' between Skins/Hools. East-Germans vs Poland. Location: somewhere in the Forest.
If he wants to 'proof' himself, he could start trying to argue with them about their 'sissy'-sport...:)
(maybe we could get a picture from you afterwards,...wait, better not.)

Their all wimps and sooks! :stare:The call the grown up boys who play football (A.K.A. Soccer) athletes! They cry if they miss or loose a match, they pretend to have life threatening injuries when they fall over the shoelaces, and they have egos that if were any bigger would the the A380 jet to get around!:smug:

Don't get me started on the steriod suck antics of American football, baseball, Australian Rugby Leuge, AFL, Rugby Union and so on.

Is there a sport that is not tainted by drugs?:hmm:

Okay, as a soccer player myself, I cannot stand it when everyone in the entire United States of America calls soccer (or football) a sissy sport, there's more contact in soccer than there is in just about every other popular sport in the U.S. aside from football and lacrosse. And besides, what does the amount of hitting that happens in a sport have to do with how good it is?

I don't understand, waste gate, why you aren't ragging on our own American Pasttime for being a sissy sport. With the exception of the almost-never-happens collision at home plate and perhaps a hard slide into a base (are there no hard slides in soccer?), there's pretty much NO contact whatsoever, and if contact does happen, interference is called because the players can't handle getting grazed by someone running past.

Now I'm not saying that you should go nitpick every single sport out there like this, but if you actually take the time to think about it, you pretty much have a choice of watching two sports in the U.S. if you want to watch a physical, "hard hitting" sport. Football and lacrosse, and how many times do you see lacrosse on TV?

I'll stick with watching and participating in all sports I want to watch or participate in, no matter how "sissy" they are. I also won't go into a public forum and try to piss off many people there by insulting for no reason a major part of their lives.

Oh, and your little dig about girls kicking eachother in the shins? Hmm, the ONE pad that soccer players wear is on the shins, so unless most soccer players enjoy kicking curved pieces of plastic, I don't think it stands. Besides, football players wear more pads anyways.

I don't care much for any sport myself but my kids play soccer and I don't see anything 'sissy' about it. Nor does my husband.

This thread seems to be flamebait more than anything else.

Sounds like a serious question to me. Why are soccer players injured relatively frequently when the physical demands on them are nothing compared to the players of the other football codes?

It is hard to escape the conclusion that it's because they are gutless, pampered fairies. The way they behave is disgraceful, especially with all the diving. In any other sport that is called cheating and is not tolerated.

You could watch any given game of first grade Rugby Union or Rugby League and see players suffer far worse injuries than soccer players ever encounter, and still return to finish the game because their team needs them. Broken noses, dislocated shoulders and fingers, corked muscles, concussions, and huge cuts on the ears and face requiring stitches are all routinely played on with.

30 days in the brig. And I am closing your other recent threads as well, you are making too much work for the mods around here.
