View Full Version : How does one edit a thread topic title?

I've read through the hints on editing a threads title, but when all is said and done, it changes the in-thread title, but the topic title that is displayed remains the same. AM I doing something wrong? I've read through other posts on this board with people having the same issue.

Maybe its a problem with my account?

Yeah - I'm convinced of it! :D I've tried the ways in the other threads, but its broken for me. This has got to be an account control issue where my account didn't transfer properly to the new server.

Give me a bit - when I get some time, I'll create a new account and test.

I don't think this will help, unless it's enabled for "normal" users. In another forum I am it's also not possible.

Hmm - it seemed to work in this thread with another account - http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=121162

I will wait for this thread to hang out for about 15 minutes to make sure it isn't a 'timed' thing.

Allright - it seems you can edit the title, but only for a certain length of time. I was able to edit it the first time, but after waiting for about 10 minutes, it locks in that title for all time.

My final analysis - So all these threads about changing the title of a thread seem to have been dealing within that time limit.

After moving to the new servers or after introduction of the new forum software, it was possible in the past (did it myself repeatedly, even after hours and days), by clicking at the end in the headline in the forum list, and moving the cursor via arrow-keys. This function has been repaired, locked, deleted - call it what you want.

Multiple accounts are a big no-no.

It was strictly for technical testing only, and in no way did I attempt to hide my identity for devious purposes! :D

I had login problems a while ago, and there's a tchocky-2 account somewhere. Delete away :)

Devious or not, the rule is one member--one account. We have the Comments/Support section for problems like this.

Scratch that. It turns out that this is not an issue. I apologize.
