Video Card

I'm can get my hands on a MSI RX1900XTX ( VT2D512E ) video card with MB ( EVGA ) vary cheaply. I'm wondering if this is a good performing card. I already have a vary good power supply ( 600 w ) PCIe ready an OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K DDR ( 2 x 1 gig ).

The XTX is an older card but still quite powerful, it should do a great job with SH4.

I'm considerng this an upgrade from my 6800 ultra AGP, which run SH4 vary good.

A quick search just turned up some Doom3 comparisons, in which the 1900XTX was about 50% faster than the 6800 Ultra.

I searched too 'bout this card but was looking for personaly experiance on this card or similar like this. I found reviews that rate this card a little better then a 7900gt PCIe.

An XTX should be at least equivalent to the very top of the 7900 line, GTX or Ultra or whatever.

Well, of course it is. Pretty much all that ATI does is endlessly optimising their so-called drivers for Doom 3 or Quake 4

using doom3 to compare video card potential? That should tell you you're looking at the wrong video card. Sure it may play SH4, but what about more demanding mods, newer games...etc.

If i've ever learned ANYTHING in building gaming computers its that you never upgrade yourself just over one game. When you upgrade you do it right, or you don't do it at all.

Otherwise you end up loosing money in the long run.

Like I said, This is vary cheap upgrade fer me, I'm trading my friend a rotted out trailer but GOOD frame an tires, for this. This was 1 of two trailers I own an never used it. He'll rebuild it an I'll have somethn' new to play with.
