Quite a lot apparently...

I can laugh at the old joke: 'what do you tell a woman with two black eyes? ...nothing, you already told her twice.'

But I'd be branding that guys scruttocks with his damn iron and see how he likes standing under a cold shower to sort the burnt flesh.

Despicable.

Here's a case where the punishment fits the crime (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070823/ap_on_fe_st/odd_public_punishment;_ylt=AqQO8eHk6BhF389fhLlDlXP tiBIF) but not the way you would have thought.

Idiots.

Are we in the midst of an epidemic (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070824/ap_en_ce/nicole_richie;_ylt=Apfq8c0xKMzP1gXYYy99rpVxFb8C)? :shifty:

Seems to me like that:
US - Too many people put into jail
EU - Not enough people put into jail
Geographically, Iceland should have the right penal policy then.

Ok, with the US they make special exceptions for famous stupid blondes, but who wouldn't?
:D

Did anyone else feel bad for laughing out loud when you saw that picture of the guy? What a bad picture for the story they're trying to tell...

and uh... I didn't know that assault was payable with a fine...

Not long to go now when you can slip the judge a tenner and walk free from a murder. :nope:

Ummm why should it matter if his job makes it hard for him to carry out a community order

He was spared even a community punishment because the judge ruled that "special circumstances" suggested he was unlikely to reoffend and his job meant he was too "busy" to find the time to complete any order.

Tough
If it affects his work so what
Whats £2k when you earn £90k a year

The guy does look a bit of a freak. If his wife had any sense she'd wait till he was asleep or unprepared and nail him. Judge made a bad decision. His kind never change.
