For whatever reason the sub gods have decided to always bless me with the ability to be one step behind any taskforce I try to encounter. My patrol assignment is to hunt merchants near the phillsea, anywho I run into a nice convoy with 2 Large old passanger carriers and 3 fubuki destroyers. I take them all down and use the rest of my torpedos. Well i radio in and im told to come home, well on my way back to freemantle i run smack dab into 2 task forces on the way back, one of which I had to dive to 160ft and go silent and sit there while they steam right over me :( Well i snaped so screen shots of the 1st task force, comprised of 8 Destroyers, 2 heavy cruisers(takao and a mogami) and 2 carriers

yup, that's exactly it. you take care of a convoy then either resume your patrol area or RTB to resupply or end the patrol and you come across that with no fish left:damn:

Heh, happened to me too - and not just any old TF either : the remains of the Jap fleet involved in the Battle of Midway. Which for some reason still had its 4 flat tops when I encountered them on their way back to Japan (I suppose the battle didn't really happen in that particular game, and the fleet was just scripted to follow it's historical course - that was using TM 1.5 btw).

My boys had to get a crowbar to pry my teeth from the periscope's handlebars :rotfl:.

It's a very common problem. They're usually blowing through there at 20+ knots.
