I'm coming back from patrolling SSW of Casablanca. Pick up a convoy heading to England. Over the course of four nights I bag six large cargos, a large merchant, a med. cargo, a black swan, and a Flower class. Not bad. Only one Swan left as escort, and all that is left of the convoy are Tramps, Pass/cargos, and small merchs'. I have 11 eel's, and 87 rounds of 105. I figger slip an eel into the Swan, and I can wax the rest with the DG. The torp detonates @ .5 below the Frig just fwd of the DC racks. Say good night Gracie. Surface my boat aftre she slides under, and it starts raining! :damn: I don't know where they learned the raindance, but someone needs to pay for teaching it to 'em.

Maybe a quick edit of your sub files when you get back to port will help sove the problem. You just increase the tolerance of when you gun crew can't man the deck gun no more, and you still be able to gun them down in future.

I admit it is tempting. And I know it's just a game. But it still isn't right. I'm not goin' for an Uberboot. Kinda stinks up the cheese, but it probably did me a favor. Use the ammo on better targets later. And the boys were gettin kinda ragged. But to be so close to eradicating a convoy all by my lonesome... Leaves you nasty spun-up.

Hi Kaleuns,

I'm just starting to run GWX1.03 and SH3 commander.

Please can someone tell me location and which files to edit to make it possible to man DG and Flak in winds of more than 7 m/sec? (I think max. of 9 m/s would be really useful).

I've seen this info on here before, but searched for it without success - Sorry!

Thanx in advance,

Capn. Mike (U-69 now dead and buried !!!)

Follow the convoy and email contact reports of its route to Spinnennetz, once the weather improves, finnish the buggers :D

I think, by default, the storm conditions are set to 11m/s in GWX. I maybe wrong, it's been awhile since I played and took notice.

The Flack gun should be avaible to use in all but extreme conditions, they have guard rails around them ya know!

Am in CG. Not on report map. More's the pity. Will follow until I eliminate, or find better Hunting. Will be an outstanding patrol either way. Well over 100Kt expected.

As in Love with Enid (my DG) as I am the flak trash is useless for just about anything except giving Bernard something to clean. Don't really matter if he breaks something I won't use.

In GWX they have set it to 11 m/s but they have left the rain levels the same (please correct me if I'm wrong)

IF you go into the sub folder and find the sub your using. open the .cfg file and look down at the settings you will see the weather. it looks like =11 and 0.1 change the 0.1 to 1.0 if you want to operater in all rain conditions, raise the 11 to above 15 if you want to operate in all sea states.

Hi Danlisa, Bookworm 020 et al,
Thanks a bunch fot the info.

Found out that it IS already set to 11 m/s in GWX, as you advised - but so blown away by the experience of my 1st full mission in it yesterday I only had couple hours sleep last night, and hence no 'Thanx' until now ! My 'better half' nearly killed me this morning when trying to pry my eyes open in time for me to go to work:-)

Words fail me on GWX, but as I work in computers most of my time I can only imagine what a stellar effort went into making this Xpansion....
It is a totally different game to SH3 - and about 500% more realistic ( and difficult) !
More later, when the heart rate comes down a bit.

Happy Hunting
Capn Mike
