Have not heard from U-30 since she left base on the night of the 15th Nov. Last reported position was south of Ireland around grid BF12. It has been now 3 days since U-30 sent a patrol status, so I am now declaring U-30 lost at sea with all hands lost.
(I got sunk by some very accurate depth charges from a lone V&W destroyer - all but 2 compartments flooded, Hydrophone/fore batteries destroyed. Went straight to the bottom with heavy flooding:damn: )

SRY my finger pressed enter.... anyway. I had heavy flooding and dropped to 215m then hit again and dropped to seafloor at 230m. As i was close to shore somewhat. Anyway with batteries, diesals and all engines knocked out i waited at the bottom. Fixed flooding but kept getting nailed. After about two hours i blew ballast. There i sat alone in the south atlantic waiting to die. A lone dd came and blew me away. Not even a struggle. I tried but to no avail.

Bugger!:nope:
That word may be used to describe pretty much everything bad that has happened through the history of humanity. It truly is the most valuable word of the English language.
Anyway...Rest in Peace you brave sailors of U-30. You were not the first, nor the last, to die in the icy waters of the Atlantic.
