View Full Version : the difficulty setting
Does the difficulty setting determine nothing else then the gameplay settings (the realism)?
I'm talking about the difficulty setting you can choose when you start a career.
When you choose difficulty Easy/Normal/Hard/Very Hard, you get a corresponding Low/Medium/High/Realistic at the gameplay settings. That's for sure. But does it do anything else?

Nope, not a thing.

When I first played the game I was wondering the same thing but as it turns out it just kind of automatically checks boxes for difficulty for you. No more and not less. You will find that you will be making the selections over what the auto -click difficulty does for you.
Thanks for answering. So there are in the game three discriptions for the same thing: game settings, realism, difficulty. In my opinion they should stick with one, 'realism'.

You may be right, but what constitutes 'realism' is subjective. In SH3 the main settings are all under the umbrella of 'realism', which led many players to complain that 'difficulty' would have been more accurate.
Which goes to show that you can't please everybody, and sometimes not anybody.:sunny:
Could it be that the difficulty setting when starting a career has to do with the AI difficulty rather then the realism setting you can change in port.

Nope. Just gameplay.
