My CD arrived today from Amazon but I dont' know how to get it up and running in Dosbox. I'm using the D-Fend front end and I can get my other DOS games up and running just fine using the wizard but Fast Attack is giving me trouble.

I copied the CD contents into a folder on my hard drive and then ran D-Fend but that still didn't work.

Any tips to get this working? I searched the forums but couldn't find exactly what I needed to get up and running.

I am also unable to run Fast Attack with the dos box of xp.
When trying to run the game, I can see game title and then the game will crash immediately.

OK I got it to run successfully.

U-161, did you make sure to run SOUNDSET.BAT to configure you audio?

Yes. I did.
It seems that crashing has not related to sound problem.
Since you can play the game successfully, I will try your method.

Great!
I can run Fast Attack on my PC.
The latest version of DOSbox is enough for running the game.
I will try to run Great Naval Battle 3.
Thank you jmr for sharing your knowledge.

1. Install DOSbox
2. Read README.txt
3. Click start -> program -> DOSBox -> DOSBox.conf
4. Add command line for mounting your local hard drive and cd-rom to that file.
5. Run DOSBox.
6. Install Fast Attack.
7. The autodetection of the sound set up program is unreliable. You should try all possible configuration on manual.

Maybe you have to change the parameter in DOSBox.conf for running FA successfully.

There's also a bunch of tutorials on using DosBox here (http://vogons.zetafleet.com/viewforum.php?f=39&sid=6394c7479cb9606ebedde0c66ce8877d)

If you don't want to deal with typing commands, you can download some frontends for DosBox here (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?page=DOSBoxFrontends)

I would recommend you to use D-Fend Reloaded! :03:
