Hello everyone!

Just to clear the air, im a raging tool when it comes to SH3. I cant patch it and I cant figure out how to get GWX downloaded never mind install it. However I'd be interested to get it all up to date and working.

If someone could be kind enough to post links to the needed patches then the needed parts of GWX so I can download them in the correct order I'd greatly appreciate it.

That depends on which version of SH3 you have and where you purchased it.

If you have a new off the shelf copy of SH3 it is likley already patched to version 1.4b so all you have to do is install GWX. to tell what version you have start SH3 and the loading screen will tell you which version you have by saying "1.4" or "1.1" etc in one of the lower corners of the screen

Did you download SH3 from Ubi.com? Did you buy the DVD in the USA? did you buy the DVD in the Europe or Asia?

Are you using any mods already or is this stock out of the box SH3 your playing now?

Basic Installation of GWX

1) Uninstall SH3 via Windows' "Add/Remove programs"

2) Open Windows Explorer and:
- *delete* the folder where you had installed SH3
- *delete* the \My Documents\SH3 folder

3) Reinstall SH3

4) If your SH3 did not come with patch v1.4b already included, install patch v1.4b. Ensure you install the patch that corresponds to your copy of SH3 (Download/DVD/EMEA/US)

5) OPTIONAL: Copy and paste this "clean" install as a backup to avoid the need to follow steps 1-3 if your game becomes corrupt in future

6) Visit the GWX sticky thread in the Mods Workshop and download into the SAME folder GWX.exe and the five .bin files. While there grab the v1.03 patch

7) Run GWX.exe and follow the installation prompts

8. Run GWX103.exe and follow the installation prompts

Guys, please keep in mind that we can't merely assume everyone is running XP. We need to confirm if players are running Vista. There are more install/uninstall steps for Vista users, as I have posted numerous times elsewhere. ;)

I am running XP Home edition, I purchased SH3 about 2 months ago or so and it was brand new when I purchased it. The 1.3 patch wont install and gives the following error

'C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\MissionEngine.dll: unknown version.'

This makes me now think that it is a 1.4 version. Coolio.

On my desktop I have a file labeled GWX103 at a size of 82mb.

I also cannot sign up for online gaming, I keep getting 'Invalid password' and no further information. I keep trying variants but I'm well and truly dished by this friggin' game.

Im good at Red Orchestra though :rock:

But thats useless here :lol:
