External view zoom level

Some time ago I read a post referring to zoom levels. I managed to change the zoom levels in the external views (next/previous camera) as in the stock version they do not zoom near enough for me (bad eyesight). Everything was o/k until instal of 1.3 patch, now they are back to normal(stock). Can anyone give me a pointer to this post as I can no longer find it or help in any way , please do not suggest getting new 'binoc' glasses.:lol:

I had the same problem; I thought it was RFB1.31 that was the culprit but Beery explained that he had barely changed the zoom if at all. So, if indeed it was in the official patch maybe someone will restore the earlier, closer zoom levels.
