Can't even turn the radar on groan...

Hi

I'm veeery new to this. I can't even turn the radar on. I've tried being surfaced, submerged, turned all the knobs I can find etc but still can't turn on the radar.

Started to wonder if it was a bug so I installed Trigger Maru 1.5 and it still doesn't work. I also have the Living Breathing Ocean mod installed.

Please could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks for the reply but I'm struggling a bit to be honest. I go to the radar station but the on/off button just doesn't respond. I move my mouse over it and it's highlighted as if I can click on it, but then nothing happens when I click.

When should I be able to use the radar - I'm guessing it should be OK to use when submerged? Do you think this is a bug or a problem with my installation?

I'm on patch 1.3 btw.

If the only radar you're equipped with is SD Radar then you can't interact with it via the radar panels and knobs - it's only used by the crew and they call out contacts via the text log. Other radars, available on other boats at other times, should be usable the way you're trying to do.

What year is it? If it isn't mid to late 42 then you will have no interaction with RADAR even though the station is there.

Ah, ok that makes sense. I'm messing with the sub school just trying to get this first torpedo kill. So I use the Hydrophones for now, and ignore the sonar (myself) but listen out for any instructions the crew give me?

I'm sure I saw it working at one time, but I'll give this way a whirl. It's nice to know that it isn't just down to a bug/prob with my installation.

Sunk and destroyed. My map looked like a spiders web at the end but was worth it - very satisfying! Apart from watching HFRO and K19 I know nothing about subs so it's cool to see all the details e.g. the hydrophones were less useful the deeper I went. Took me a while to figure that out.

Can see this is gonna take up a lot of my time :)
