Finally after 5 years of war Bdu has rewarded me with command of U3523, a Type XXI at last.

Though the submerged speed and Torp reload times are phenonminal...

What with the depthkeeping?

This boats a nightmare at periscope depth. Even with a calm sea, no matter what the Chief tries the damn thing either broaches or the periscopes under the surface. Almost my entire crew have been with me since the start of hostilities and I find it hard to believe they've lost their seamanship skills overnight!

Anyone else having/had this problem?

I'm currently trying to take down a taskforce between the Shetlands and Farroes but its proving a nightmare. Illustrious, 2 Dido class cruisers + escorts. I've really got to take them down or else Bdu will send me back to a comanding a dugout.

I notice that when you going very fast under water you will have a hard time keeping your depth, Give it about 10 minutes and it should stop.

The depth keeping problems I'm having are at low speeds.

I've been using GWX, since it 1st hit the ocean, so I'm quite used to positive buoyancy.
This boot of mine seems to alter between positive an negative buoyancy unpredictably.
No matter what I order, near the surface the boot just won't hold a steady depth.

Maybe I've something new to learn?

I had a topic (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=113847) about the GWX XXI, a while ago.
In a PM, I asked Kpt.Lehmann if they had any plans to improve this Uboat further...he said they were quite busy (as always, lol), and he couldn't promise anything.

I'm afraid the situation hasn't changed as far as I am aware :nope: Everyone over at GWX is working extremely hard at the moment on the forthcoming release

Try set depth to 12-13 meters and you'll have a couple of metres to play with if the bouancy desides to go negative or positive

Correct... :yep:
I set it to 13 with rough weather and 13.5 in calm seas
