First of all I like to say that GWX rocks!
After reading the GWX manual I found out that you get no tonnage report after the first mission if you upgraded the U-boat before the start of the first mission. This happened to me. Although I got renown points, Im not credited for kills or tonnage.
- Is there a way to manually add this tonnage to the game files or sh3commander?
In my second patrol I was shadowing a convoy in the atlantic. Several days really bad weather and I noticed the 2 side escorts began sanking in the bad weather. Only the Hunt II up front continued. Offcourse I took advantage and attacked the convoy several times with moderate succes. (3 pyro ships and a p/cargo, several torps exploded before the target in the high waves)
- Does this escort sinking happen alot in GWX? Tho it was very welcomed in this early career, but makes it in the long run a bit too easy.

December '39 just before Xmas :) Very possible it was a Hunt I class. Not sure about the 2 escorts but they were very small, and didnt really look like sea going ships.
I bet it was a Flower Corvette :hmm:

In 1942, I've seen a V&W Destroyer dead in the water with the bow sticking up in the air in really bad weather (hurricane) w/ GWX 1.03.

Never upgrade your boat on prior to it's first patrol :nope:
The game treats weather damage from the sea state the same as damage from battle etc......hence the fires you'll witness. :yep:

Yeah I got that figured out reading the GWX manual, but thats too late now. So the question stands, can i manually add them? Browsed my career files a bit and there are entrys for ships sunk and entrys. You would say u can edit them, since SH3commander does it also? Ill try it when im back at Willemshaven,
Im sure its a Hunt class I saw, also saw one in the first mission at a convoy. Im sure it was a Hunt since they remind me of the legendary James Hunt :yep:
Dont know which GWX Im using, where can I see that?
Im about to get back to the mission, lets see if I can remember the small escorts and look them up in the book.

Look at the game loading screen, if the picture is of a wolf howling and the letters 'GWX' light up look at the bottom right of the loading screen

You can manually add your tonnage, but if you're not sure what you are doing you can stuff up your career. See, it's not just the tonnage values that need to be applied, in two files, and aggregated throughout in one file, but the bug also results in certain dates not being recorded. They'll need to be corrected as well.
If you think it's worth the hassle, look in your affected career's Careers.cfg and Patrols.cfg files. It's pretty straight forward from there (dodgy dates are stored as zeroes).
If SH3Cmdr subsequently errors on this career, then you've done it wrong. In which case it may just be easier to cut your losses and start again.
