I can'T fire my torpedos anymore. The red button and the Enter button do not work. I am running a clean install of GWX 1.03, nothing else. I know the fire seqeunce is via CTRL-Enter now. somebody suggested also to use ALT-key, and I also tried it with the enter key both on the main and the number keyboard. Muzzle hatches manually opened. I also switched the keyboard language to English (US) from desktop, did not make a difference.
I know, I read, i found some threads describing that in 1.02 German keyboards had an issue, that 1.02 needed a hotfix, and that all that is included in 1.03.I had GWX installed, and the fire button worked as intended.
I recently reinstalled my system (regular cleanup), installed the game again, patched 1.04, then GWX 1.03, yesterday night launched my first session since then via save game - and gone is the fire button. Launched single missions, and a new campaign, no luck. Reduced realism to all difficulties off ("3%"), still no fire button.
Hmpf. :stare:
Anyone some ideas, please?

I had the same problem, but my problem solved itself after a new installation and starting a new career.... Now I can fire torpedoes ONLY by pressing Enter, Alt+Enter or CTRL+Enter never worked.
Irgendwie verträgt sich GWX und deutsche Keyboards nicht... :hmm:

Yes, I red your comments in your old thread, but none of your solutions works for me. I am running a clean GWX 1.03 installation, brandnew. And the thing worked before the system reinstall, and now it doesn't anymore!? Before, it too was just SH3+1.4+GWX1.03 (freshly downloaded in early April). The keyboard is the same (Vivanco Blackboard USB).
Thought about going back to default 1.4 without GWX, but years back I soon found that to become repetitive, so I think I abandon it all together.

I read what your using, but by any chance are you launching the game via SH3 Commander?
Could be that you've got sabotage and malfunctions selected?

Don't even exactly know what SH3 Commander is.:) An interface to activate and switch off additonal mods, as far as I have overread it in the past.
as I said:
- new system installation,
- SH3
- 1.4 (or1.4b, I'm not sure)
- GWX 1.03
Put some additional mp3s into the grammophone folder that I had used before, too, that's all.

There was a problem firing torpedos on release using German keyboard layout
That was fixed in a hotfix and was carried over into all subsequent patches
When you fire the game up does it say 1.03 in the bottom left of the GWX start screen
Just in case 1.3 hasnt been added properly

I simply had forgotten to install the 1.03 Update over the GWX base installation. :dead: After doing that, the Fire-button is unlocked again. However, I do not need CTRL-Fire, but simply Fire. It was early in the first campaign after reinstallation, so not much game time was lost when needing to start a new campaign (loading the old one led to CTD).
Thanks Wooly, your note on version number and launching screen pointed my view at the needed direction.
