It's better than Trigger Maru.:yep: This is one of the best mod I've seen. There will be a final update of GWX released in the near future (GWX 1.04) which contains more eye candy (sea forts!, and some new ships), more random vessels and a whole range of tweaks!
Check out the SH3 mod thread to get a sneek peak! GWX takes a good game and makes it great!

Definately advise GWX as it is very comprehensive and easy to install. Not only does it bring the U-boat war to life graphically but also adds intense realism. You'll spend at least 100/hrs or more in SH3 if you get into it. Deal of the century.
Advise SH3 commander 2.7, the GWX combined skin pack and the cfg file to make SH3 commander compatible. All easy to get from Jimbuna's file site http://hosted.filefront.com/jimbuna/
Also advise looking thru Venatore's mods, there is a thread dedicated to them.
Using some of [REL] Einbecker`s Command&Combat Audioevent Vol. 1 (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=119607) sounds, although it may require some folder creation on user's behalf as its not very jsme freindly.
Waiting on Improved Church's Observation Scope (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=118829), nearly finished and looks brilliant. You'd thk it would definately be in next GWX update.
All said and done, after GWX you dont really need many, if any other mods.

I love Alex's damage torpedo damage texture. I even prefer it to the 3d rendered damage of sh4 for some reason

Only one drawback to GWX. It's not installable via JSGME and if you ever want to uninstall it, you have to uninstall all of SH3. Otherwise, it's fantastic.

Simple answer to that is to do what so many others have already done (myself included)......................add another installation
