Another BUG, I usually dove and the submarine didn't stop more of going down!!!!
Did anybody already notice those BUG with the patch 1.3??? will we Have patch 1.4???

Not a bug. Radio signals could be recieved while submerged.

Try diving a little deeper and the radio will actually fade out.

Correct, radio messages could be received while submerged. Something to do with low frequency transmissions.

This of course is contemporary technology but still an interesting read.

Regarding the receival or messages underwater, it does not happen at any depth.

The sole exception should be objectives and the objective related messages, like those pop-ing up for the player. Those will, unfortunately, pop-up at any depth.

Well I pass it off in a role playing manner. It took a while for my radio man to decode and scribe and it only got handed to me after we dived.

It brings to mind the scene in Tora Tora Tora where the japanese gentilman is translating the message one keystroke at a time at an agonizingly slow pace.

What gets me is that it is hardly a game breaker but I guess the malcontents have to find something to piss and moan about.

Come on guys. At least UBI is still supporting this game by putting out patches. I know it's not perfect but I still enjoy it. My $.02.

Small side effect. It's good to have the pop-up in case you miss something.

Yep, the lower the frequency the deeper you can go and still recieve radio messages, though I'm not sure on the technology of radios during the war. I don't know if they had ULF back then.

but not in ww II era..

it was not possible do received messages in every deep...

if i remeber corect then i read about Reinhard Hardegen...

he could only received radio messgaes with low freqenz a little bit deeper then periscop deep...
(i forgott the exact deep)

but it was absolutly not in 200+ and more feet deep...

The radio guy may have forgotten to tell you the message. Bad boy :yep: May need some contact counselling I think :arrgh!:

but not at ww II time 1941 and later...

As mentioned it's only the pop up messages which are affected, perhaps an immersion breaker but certainly not a game breaker.

Personally I couldn't care less about this one.

That's how I think of it too.
If you use your imagination it's easier to cope :)

What does bother me a bit though is that on the S-class subs you can still hear the radio music when you are submerged.

200 feet = 60m. Considering the distance between the keel - where depth is measured, and the top of the submarine, where the radio antenna is, its not that far off.

Also, remember that radio antennas become extendable at some point, though not that far.

This is silly. As mentioned by others, it's only the "new mission" messages which appear regardless of depth. That's a concession to gameplay. Same with the fact that if you transmit a status report to let HQ know you've completed the mission, new orders come immediately. If they did it accurately, people would complain that mission completion and assignment of new missions was buggy and unreliable.

When at periscope depth, you'll pick up the radio and contact updates. Go deeper and you won't. Get a radio mod and listen to the radio fade out when you dive, and fade back in when you come up.

It's a game, and trade-offs are made. Don't let minor distractions like this ruin it for you. I don't get why people seem to look for things to make them miserable. Sure, the game isn't perfect, but what software is? We pay a lot of money for Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, etc., and guess what? Buggy as all hell! But we take what support we can get from the vendor, and work around the remaining problems as best we can.

Me either but evidently it is the tone and tenor of todays society as evidenced by reading virtually any game forum.
