Summary,
Wx, Stormy, seas beaufort scale 9 to 10, Horizontal rain, Vis varied from 300 to 3,000
Out of position for Group one,, watched the parade from 2000 yds pass by,
Made high speed submerged run for the second,
made forward tube attack on Nelson class, 3 fish 790 mt 3 hits heard but results not seen.
fired Stern tube in snap shot at fiji at 1,000 mt (radio heard Mayday from HMS Uganda) CA, Hit, heard breaking up sounds,
fired 2 bow at Dido 1 range 800mt and dido two, 890mt, Hits heard, (mayday copied from HMS Sirus) observed sinking, other seen to sail into a squall.
Fired 2 at HMS repulse, 1400 mt, heard hits, results not observed
Dove, DD's upon me, silent running for 3 hour, unable to attack third group due to evasive maneuvers. Perscope revealed a Dido Class cruiser 1000 mts DIW. While making approach to fire, A VW came out of a squall on an attack run, range, Fired Defence shot and DD seen to explode at 500MT.
backed off to 10KM , surfaced at 0600, first light, and relaoded external fish. Upon diving and starting silent approach to DIW Dido, soundman reports breaking up noises. periscope revealed DIDO no longer on the surface.
Sound man reports a second DIW contact at 100, brg 340, rng 12km. made silent approach and at 500 mt observed target to be a Nelson class. Fired Bow tube and observed hit below "C" turrent. While maneuvering for a stern shot, secondarys observed and vsl rolled to port.
