TMaru 1.4 Question

It is Oct. 1943. I have a Balao class boat with a 4.5 gun mounted on the stern. But, there is no crew postion for that gun in the crew screen. There is no box for that gun to put a crewman in, and, although I can give the order to man the deck gun no one ever does. I can shoot it myself but even with Battlestations no crew will man it.

Anyone know what gives? Thanks.

Everytime i read this i want to cry. Im not sure what causes that, it seems to be some bugginess from the stock game. Im not sure what causes it or how to reproduce it. Doesnt seem to occur when you start a career game with said boat but at other times. When.. again, i dunno.

Thanks. I didnt realize this had been squawked before. It's the first time it's ever happened to me and I've had lots of careers/boats.

Thats why it hasnt been nailed down yet. Its hard to reproduce. I just happends once every blue moon to someone, no idea why or how.

Hi Guys , Same problem here !
I have had a Balao since late 43 , its now late 44 and a 5 25 deckgun with the same uncrewable section on the crew screen ! :down:

I also have a all black sub skin and was wondering if and when I'll get the chance to have a light grey / black scheme ?

Questions:

Did you upgrade the deck gun, or did the game do it for you after a certain date?

If you upgraded it yourself, did you change deck gun locations when you upgraded, or did you upgrade the gun in the same location it was previously?

I've had this happen pre 1.3 but without the T-maru mod.


It occured when upgrading deck gun from a bow mounted one to a stern. Only when I already had crew assigned to it.

Perhaps you can make it so D-gun crew is automatically fired when changing from bow mount to stern.

Hi Guys ,
I always have to have the latest and greatest weapon system on my Tin Can , and have upgraded my deck hardware as soon as a new piece becomes available .
I have also changed from fore to aft deck position , hence ... I have a fore and aft deck gun crew position on the crew management screen ( but only one gun aft ) and cant get the AI to man said gun !!!!!!! I also had same problem on my previous boat a Gato .
Are there any files I can restore from DVD , hopefully correcting deck gun layout ?

I dont want to have to restart my career as I'm on mission 12 with 490.000 tons sunk
( No DUD torps though !! )
