I tried out the free part of the game and did some combat races with other players tonight.

It reminds me of the old Car Wars tabletop game. Very much so.

I really like the fact that it's turn-based and the physics are great. I actually LOL'd a few times while playing a few Combat Races. I haven't signed up for the full game (that includes the real good parts of the game) just yet as I'm still gettin' a little practice in first. My driving's great, but driving and shooting at the same time needs a little more work.

Neat, though personaly im hoping for another post apocalyptic racing/shooter/rpg/sim hybrid then turn based. There has been little released of that sort that was any good. Auto Assault showed some promise but they realy picked the wrong model for it (it should have been like guildwars since the game was so heavily instanced, not subscription based mmo) and it failed pretty badly.

This game is addictive.

I've really had some gut-busters when playing a League Race or Deathrace. Especially seeing some of the insane ways the players get their drivers and/or gunners killed.

I'm enjoying it more every day.

Oh my god ! There's other people who are familiar with Car Wars other than me out there !!!:o

Coincidentally I just ran a scaled up version on my dining room table with miniature scenery and matchbox cars. I have an entire shelf in my game closet devoted to Car Wars stuff.

An MMO version of the old game Interstate 76 would be great. I'm too interested in a turn based version. Civilization and Total War are the only games that can pull off that style.

That was probably THE best car shooter to ever exist. Even a remake would be great.

Here's a couple screenshots of my drunk driving skills during a nice little bind over three 1-second turns:

Uh... Did I ever mention that a nice portion of this was free? What's the holdup?
