Nothing loading but a big blank page here.

This might actually be interesting. Thanks, Neal!

The PT boat page won't load for me, though, even after I whitelisted it. And the only object there is apparently a single SWF item. We'll see what they make of it, though. Let's give 'em time.

As this game beat the record for development time yet:roll:

What is it 3 or 4 years now?

At last, it's looking like this is finally close to release.

I think the entire history of the development of the real PT boats took less time than this game has to come to completion. But that said, I am looking forward to it, especially if there is some way to have an E-Boat or an MTB, which would be very cool indeed. Water still looks very good in the screenshots too.

One other great thing about this game/sim is that it has the potential to attract less casual gamers into the genre, as the fact that you can bomb it about very fast in a boat will prove more of an initial draw than the slowly does it approach of submarines would seem to. With a wider audience interested in the genre, a new sub sim would seem to have more chance of getting up and running.

The new site looks nice.

And the forums are still up and running.

One bit of news tho from the forums:

"Russian developer and publisher, Akella, has announced that their upcoming naval simulator, PT Boats: Knights of the Sea, will take advantage of DirectX 10:"

for more info .... http://www.pt-boats.net/enforum/viewtopic.php?t=487

Found this link at their forums for a movie showing the difference from DX9 to DX10:

As far as I remember from discussions on the PT boats forum that may indeed be a possiblity but only in third person view.

This one will be one to keep an eye on. Akella impressed me with their Sea Dogs (http://www.subsim.com/ssr/seadogs/seadogs.html)and POTC (Sea Dogs 2) (http://www.subsim.com/ssr/seadogs2/review_potc.htm) games, it will be very interesting to see how they approach a WWII sim. They're pretty serious about it. :yep:

Release date is still Q4 '07....:o

Last time I checked the (old) site, the most recent update was from Nov. '06.
Now this new website really comes as a shocker to me, lol.
I lost hope for this title...but regained it! :D
