is it me or is my AA gunner an idiot. He wont shoot at anything approching the sub but waits until after the airplane is past. oh and the airplane is approching from an angle the the gunner can shoot at. am i missing something. I've got battlestations manned and the gunner is told to fire at will

Got a good one last night so I don't know. Make sure he is skilled I guess.

I've found it helps to set the AA gunner to "fire at will." + "fire at medium range" and "engage approaching targets." - all options on the command-bar.

Before starting a career, I also make sure I have a qualified gunner ( preferably a senior P.O. ) as AA gunner.

when i start a new career my aa gunner is always in the aft torpedo room, in the middle duty, and the swab from the torpedo room is always on the aa gun i always gotta swap them over , maybe that whats happened to you.

Thanks guys. It must have been a skill thing because my original AA gunner died in a dc attack and the guy i assigned to replace him is a crack shot

That's called "natural selection."
