So heres the tale of my maiden patrol upon U-81 a VIIC boat; my crew and I had just recently transferred from U-83 which was a VIIB class. We went out on patrol like normal, sunk some ships, patrolled around, nothing special.

One night off the coast of France, I get a Radio message of heavy shipping around Dunkirk, i have like 25% fuel left so i decide what the hell so i sneak into the area around Dunkirk and what do i find? A harbor full of huge tonnage ships and a military convoy moving by. I find a nice juicy Fiji class Cruiser in the middle and decide to Fraps a video of me smoking it and the Troop Transport next to it.

After I finish torping the two ships and am starting to sneak out of the area, suddenly all of the air sirens go off and lights in the harbor area go crazy; then i realize it, The Luftwaffe is here!!! They start bombing all the juicy ships in the harbor, including the convoy and do major damage. By the next morning only a few ships remained and those that remained had taken major damage.

However that is not the end of my tale, for the next hour in realtime I fought a hard battle against 2 destroyers and their annoying sonar. You are probably saying, zomg its an early war sonar just dive, however I am near a harbor with only about 30 meters to dive in.

One of the bastards managed to get a good run on me and I hit the ocean floor flooding, luckily my repair crew is very good and we stopped the flooding, then I came to periscope depth and managed to fire off my last torpedo (aft tube) and sink of the destroyers. 30 minutes later the other destroyer still pinging me, i decide it has to end there, I come to periscope depth and go to flank speed, when he made his run over me I breached his bottom hull and he sank. 10 minutes later I was clear and i made my run back to Kiel for lots of beer and sleep.

Cheers on that, Widowmaker!!!!
Will be nice to have a couple of drinks when you dock...
And yes, the Luftwaffe boys can be very selfish and hard to understand. When you have many ships in sight and you are ready to bag them they show up, but in the other hand, when you send a report to ask for their help, they just decide they are too busy somewhere else. :shifty:
